Join the next Mission: El Salvador, 01/2-9, 2010

The mission trip to El Salvador was amazing! We not only got to help hundreds of people with the power of chiropractic adjustments, but we also learned more valuable Spanish to use in everyday life with our own Spanish speaking patients back in the US. We touched the lives of many, but they truly touched ours. Their generosity and kind spirit were so moving and their gratitude and honor was very humbling. We made good friends with the staff that helped the MD's who also cared for the patients after our chiropractic adjustments and with the docs and Mayor's of the towns themselves.

We were given personal accolades for our involvement in helping others.
We made friends with some locals who helped us with the translations of their own free will, dedicating hours of their time to help us help others. Although we were taught how to ask where their pain was, we not only took care of their musculoskeletal complaints, but their entire being without just focusing on the pain, using our skills to find the subluxations and correct them. We also did trigger point work, stim, vibrocussion and more.

We had natural pain lotions that we gave to the people to take home with them since we had so little time with them and they may have been sore after we worked on them to loosen up scar tissue and adhesions that had been there for a lifetime. We honed our adjusting skills as we adjusted more people than we ever have in the clinic all of our quarters combined multiplied many times over. We stopped along the way in some of the towns in order for the Mayor to make announcements that we were there to help them. It was a wild experience to be so respected and sought after. If only people in America had the same understanding with regards to a desire for chiropractic care. Granted they were in need of any care, but it was apparent that they truly wanted it and they definitely needed it. People came from miles around to be taken care of. People came back again the next day and requested us to adjust them because they loved it so much and it helped them so much.

We had testimonials that were announced over a microphone at one of the sites we adjusted at. One of the ladies that was adjusted said that she had head and neck pain for most of her life and that it was alleviated by the adjustment. There were many more where that came from. There was a child with cerebral palsy who after being adjusted could focus his eyes for the first time and his muscle tone completely changed from being rigid and sturdy to loose and more like a child would be held in it's mother's arms. It was a chiropractic miracle as they say, but it happens all the time!!!

I highly recommend anyone to go on any trip with SpinalMissions because you will have a life changing experience being in a completely different culture than your own taking care of so many people who don't have access to our care otherwise. It's so important to do this, at least once in your lifetime. I hope to continue to do so myself on future trips and in my own community here at home. This organization makes this possible and they care that the people on the trip actually know how to adjust more than just a few quarters before they put their hands on someone.

They care enough to make sure that we are safe and taken care of while we are in a foreign country and they do their best to organize some fun trips on the side as well. We had a blast going to hike up volcanoes and swimming in a lake that was by the volcanoes and eating the most amazing organic food that you can't get in America! It was all around a fabulous experience that I wouldn't trade for the world. Go, you will be grateful that you did!
